Dr. Prakash examines a young patient.

It is very difficult to get a doctor to travel to the remote project, and this couple settled here to serve the Gonds in 1974 and have stayed ever since. They have served 40,000 tribal people every year for the past 3 decades.  When Dr. Manda Amte gave birth to their son, Dr. Prakash did not even know for a month. The area was cut off due to flooding during the monsoon rains.
