The Lok Birdari Prakalp project was established in 1973 at Nagepalli and then expanded eventually to Hemalkasa. In those days, Hemalkasa was too remote to travel to in one trip so Nagepalli became the base camp. Visitors to Hemalkasa to this day, take a rest break at Nagepalli to have lunch or dinner. Led by the dynamic Jagan (standing near Baba in the photograph), the project is spread over 20 acres and includes one hospital and one sales center for products made at Anandwan.
